Our products include LEMO SMPTE and Neutrik OpticalCON cables, adapters, reelers, HD/3G/12G audio, video and hybrid cable, tactical fiber, RF connectors and cables and our patented DT-12 connectors. We manufacture extra flexible and rugged high-power AVflex UL rated speaker and lighting cables, either in bulk or custom terminated with Neutrik PowerCON or SpeakON or Socapex connectors. Our audio line includes AVflex microphone and snake cables in 2-54 channel. Fiber products include custom SMPTE panels, pigtails, adapters, and fiber cleaning kits. Nemal’s FOCC24 series SMPTE 311 Camera Cable, choice of most major networks, is approved by both Lemo and Neutrik, and is available in multiple variations (studioflex, rugged outdoor, tactical, water-block Riser rated, and mini-Steadicam®). Our latest product innovations include CAT6 snakes and a family of hi-rel XLR adapters. In 2021, we won a Technology and Engineering Emmy® Award for our Stadium-4 Plenum SMPTE cable. This innovative new cable also won the SVC Best in Show Award at Infocomm. Together with the Nemal FOPA panel system, Stadium-4 substantially reduces installation time and cost for multi-camera installations in stadiums and other large facilities. For HD video, we manufacture a line of 12G cables and assemblies with either standard BNC, HD-BNC, or Mini-Din connectors. We also offer HDTV fiber system design, training, and onsite support.
Shively Labs was founded in 1963 by radio electronic pioneer, Ed Shively. Ed was instrumental in the development of FM and TV antennas and combiners for RCA, and later Dielectric Communications, where he served as head of its research and development team. In 1963, Shively founded Shively Labs, where he developed a full line of FM broadcast antennas and combiners and developed specialized RF equipment and techniques for both military and civilian customers. Shively Labs became a division of Howell Laboratories, Inc. (HLI) in 1981. The HLI division manufactures fluid processing and instrumentation equipment for shipboard use – primarily for the US Navy and its supplier shipyards. Our only focus is FM, and we support all radio from low power translator stations to high power multi-frequency FM shared sites; Shively has the product line and engineering ability to meet each detailed need. Our ability to develop products by applying new technologies to solve customer problems has driven our continued success for over five decades. The combination of Shively’s innovative RF engineering capabilities with HLI experience designing to demanding Military Specifications and manufacturing under tight process controls has given Shively an uncommon ability to manufacture broadcast antennas for the world’s most extreme weather environments with uninterrupted coverage. The best example is the site at Mt Washington, which over the last 30 years, has seen wind velocities over 200 miles per hour and rime ice as thick as five feet; Shively employed a variety of special elevation pattern techniques to protect the safety of the thousands of visitors each summer who flock to the highest point on the Appalachian Trail. Shively has FM products in over 100 countries with recent shipments to Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Canada, Colombia, and Oman. Shively also has current projects with American Tower, EMF, Cumulus Media, iHeartMedia, Alpha Media, Entercom Communications, Spanish Broadcasting System, Salem Media, and Saga Communications, plus many medium and low power stations.
